So24! by Lombard Racing Unveils New Livery

"Desire to have things done quickly prevents their being done thoroughly"
(Confucius)

This Chinese saying is exactly what So24! by Lombard Racing team is feeling. In fact, it was necessary to be patient in order to discover the new livery of the n°22 Ligier JS P2 Judd.

The time has now come, to discover the special livery of the latest Onroak Automotive Mulsanne based prototype.

Orange, grey, black, such are the colours of the So24! Association, which was created by drivers and companies from Le Mans, in order to enter one day the world most famous endurance race : The 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the pure white and the atypical purple, the brand new car is certainly going to be a must for picture lovers.

It was worth waiting...

"Our goal now is the have results as remarkable as the car has become. In order to get there, we still need to work and learn." said Jean Lombard So24! by Lombard Racing team manager. "We wanted to highlight the presence of the association 'Sarthe Objectif 24!' on the car, and we also wanted to add fluidity and pureness in the car livery. We have a big challenge in 2016 with the six rounds of the European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and we will do all we can, to achieve our objectives."

Olivier Lombard, Vincent Capillaire and Jonathan Coleman will share duties at the wheel of the new car at the circuit Paul Ricard.

A new team participating in the european le mans series:

SO24 ! by LOMBARD RACING

A new team is born ! SO24! by Lombard Racing will now enter endurance racing
The team arose from the meeting of two automobile racing fans already known and involved in the racing world: Dominique Payen and Jean Lombard.
Dominique Payen is in charge of SO24!. This team aims at promoting its drivers by making them reach the highest level in endurance racing.
SO24! originates from a partnership made with the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) sport driving school.
For a few seasons, many companies have trusted this organisation and more and more pilots are wearing the colors of SO24!
Jean Lombard has trained a whole generation of drivers with the Formula Ford sport driving school in Montlhery. He has also been the manager of many teams in different racing disciplines.

Payen and Lombard have decided to join their competences in order to build their own race team:

SO 24! by Lombard Racing

The team will be operational next season and will be based in Le Mans.

It will enter two sports prototypes in the European endurance championship ELMS (European Le Mans Series): one in LMP2 class and one in the LMP3 category. An invitation for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2, will be solicited from the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest). Ligier is the manufacturer chosen for both chassis (JSP2 and JSP3).

The French Mulsanne-based team So24! by Lombard Racing announces its full driver line-up for the 2016 European Le Mans Series season and for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

French drivers Olivier LOMBARD and Vincent CAPILLAIRE were announced at the ACO press conference last February, as the entry list for the 84th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was revealed. The third name is now known : British driver Jonathan COLEMAN will join the French duo at the wheel of the n°22 Ligier JS P2 Judd for the six rounds of the 2016 European Le Mans Series as well as for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

At 33 years old, British Jonathan Coleman has been a European Le Mans Series driver for the full season 2014 with Pegasus Racing, he also raced with the team in 2015 at Silverstone and Estoril. In 2016, he will help the team and the drivers thanks to his good knowledge of the ELMS race tracks.

An incredible grid for the 2016 European Le Mans Series season!

44 cars, 34 teams, 14 nationalities, 3 categories

For the fourth season since the relaunch of the European Le Mans Series in 2013, Europe's leading endurance race series starts 2016 with the unveiling of a fantastic grid of 44 entries, the largest so far.

In a change for 2016 the 44 car entry will be divided between three categories on the ELMS grid, with competitors taking part in the Le Mans Prototypes 2 (LMP2), Le Mans Prototypes 3 (LMP3) or Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance (LMGTE) classes.
The former GTC teams will be able to enter the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup, for which the list will be unveiled after March 15th.

The LMP2 category will be composed of a record 15-car entries for the entire season. There will be five manufacturers: Gibson, Oreca, Ligier, Morgan and BR 01, two engine manufacturers : Nissan and Judd and two tyre manufacturers : Dunlop and Michelin.

Of the 15 entries, nine are already known in the ELMS paddock, with, of course, the 2015 Champions Greaves Motorsport back to defend their hard won title. The British team is increasing their entry from one to two cars in 2016 with the first Gibson 015S, bearing the coveted [# 1], will be in the hands of drivers champion Gary Hirsch, while the second Britain Gibson 015S will be the [# 41] Ligier JS P2 for the Mexican driver Memo Rojas.

With seven entries in 2015, the 2016 field has grown by nearly three times with a mammoth 20 car entry for the coming ELMS season. Some of the LMP2 teams, such as Panis Barthez Competition, are also entering LMP3 and using the category to train young drivers.
